We crave and more for
The glory unknown
Beyond the mud-laden paths
And what not
For perversities of our fancy
For a life too bright
Kills an infant dream
Where cruelty belies
A tale of liberty
That died alone
Unable to understand
Why did it seek
An escape from its cocoon
Oh! The temptation
To know or not to know
For knowing is a sin
One must commit
At the cost of being expelled
Of its roots, alas!

ReplyDeleteSometimes there is a delicious thrill in doing something wrong - the deliberate sinner (as opposed to the more common accidental sinner) is a secretive rebel - perverting the 'norms' of human relations
